Bernard Hermier believes the first bottom Dalla should be D. grovius amba.
in 2011 we collected the above specimen, identified by Nick Grishin, at an elevation of 1900 meters ; in 2013 we found a second one, much higher (2800 m), and in 2015 D. grovius amba was quite common at el Retiro, 1900 m, also seen at Machay.
we've noted, here and in Southern Ecuador, that, in case of a big hatch of Dalla grovius, we find specimens which look like Dalla grovius, but with white markings, and not yellow, and the head, thorax and abdomen of which are a brilliant green.
this form affects, maybe, one butterfly in twenty or forty.
we could find no mention of these forms, and we don't know what their status could be ;
