Heraclides androgeus flies from the United States and the Carribean down to Argentina and Paraguay. in Ecuador it flies on both sides of the Andes, between 400 and 1800 meters (Bollino & Onore 2001).


near Sangay National Park we saw it from Puyo to Mendez.


the black female is rare and has various forms.
