Leptophobia helena smithi is locally common, and flies, usually, above 2000 meters ; it is abundant on the North side of the Baños/Puyo corridor at 2500/3200 m.
in the Park we saw it at Machay, along río Paute at 1800 metros, near Azogues, and along Atillo/Macas road, at 2700/3000 m.
