Mimoides xynias trapeza flies on the Eastern slopes of the Andes, between 700 and 1500 meters (Bollino & Onore 2001), in Southern Colombia and in Ecuador.
in Sangay NP we saw a very few at 900 m near rio Pastaza and near Puyo, and at 1000 m at rio Tutamangosa.
females are difficult to see.
