given their size these butterflies, photographed in the rio Paute valley, near Guarumales and at el Retiro, have to be P. perornatus (id confirmed by Nick Grishin).
this butterfly was known as P. andraemon until recently, but Nick Grishin showed the existing differences between Colombian specimens - andraemon - and those from Ecuador - perornatus
