these Siseme aristoteles look exactly like the type of S. a. saturata, collected near Baños and illustrated on butterfliesofamerica.


we are at a loss to understand why these butterflies have been reclassified as sprucei, a completely different looking subspecies that flies West of the Andes ? (see new facts page)


it is.a common butterfly near 9 de Octubre, and it also flies in the Baños/Puyo corridor ; very attracted to organic waste.
