today Forsterinaria make for a difficult, poorly documented and so far neglected, Group ; this situation should not last too long because Keith R Willmott, Tomasz W Pyrcz and Anna Zubek are presently working on it.
in the meantime our identifictions are mostly based on the butterflies morphology, and will undoubtedly fall to pieces when we have some sequencing of our specimens.
we found Forsterinaria all along the Eastern limits of our research area, and in the upper valleys of río Pastaza and río Paute between 1500 and 3000 m - with the exception of F. stella which flies as low as 1000 meters, and also as high as 3000 m.
