there are four Baeotus species, all pretty much alike, and they all fly at low elevations in the Oriente and in the Amazon basin.
this specimen is probably a male Baeotus aeilus ? that everybody knows as Baeotus amazonicus, it was collected by the Shankaime river, we saw more at rio Pastaza and near Sucúa.
so we would have three different Baeotus sp flying at rio Shankaime : B. beotus, B. aelius and B. deucalion.
the female is similar, but the large bands on the upperside are between buff and orange, and not blue
