we've seen Altinote alcione in many places in the Park ; it is a most variable species which flies from Colombia to Bolivia.
specimens from Sangay NP vary from yellow with subapical markings as in "ssp A. alcione alcione" from Napo, to amber without subapical markings as in "ssp theophila" from Southern Ecuador.
