we found these females near Méndez,
they seem to be Astraptes alector alector but they fly along with A. a. hoppferi;
we so infer that they cannot be an Astraptes alector subspecies, and probably are an undescribed species.
the metallic blue goes from purplish to greenish (see individual variation page).
