Haeterinae are an Amazonian subfamily, and particularly its transparent species fly only at low elevations, below 1000 meters.
Cithaerias cliftoni (formerly known as aurorina) flies in the Western part of the Amazon basin. we saw it at the Eastern end of the Baños/Puyo corridor (800 m) and on the banks of Rio Pastaza.
