Male

wingspan : 42/46 mm

Pedaliodes alusana is a species that flies West of the Andes, in Imbabura, Pichincha, Bolivar etc... it seems nobody ever saw it in the Oriente.

however we collected specimens near Zholay (Cañar), and farther East, at Ñuñurco, where it flies with Pedaliodes pelinna, the equivalent Oriental species.

it shows that there are high elevation species which move, or begin to move, from one side of the Andes to the other. we also found it farther West, near Zhud.
