thanks to Ernst Brockmann and Nick Grishin we now have DNA barcoding for some butterflies of this Genus, and we know that this butterfly, collected near Mendez, is Narcosius nazaraeus;
nevertheless we have another Narcosius nazaraeus specimen, from San Isidro, with a rather different DNA, and that we present on the Narcosius nazaraeus 2 slide (see new facts page).
one can appreciate the distance on this tree between our two nazareus.
