in the early days of this site we wrote : "Moschoneura pinthous is a higjly variable species that flies in most of South America except in the mountains ; near Puyo we saw ssp ela and ssp monica, and farther South, we found ssp. ithomia.
so, until a revision is available, we treat these three taxons as separate species, although they may be just forms of Moschoneura pinthous...
