Eresia letitia flies from Colombia to Peru and subspecies E. l. letita flies in Colombia and in Ecuador (d’Abrera 1987).
we saw it between 1000 and 1700 meters, near Rio Negro, and near 9 de Octubre, then we also found it in the rio Paute valley and near Macas.
there are two female forms, with a white or a buff background, and intermediate forms can also be found (see Individual Variations).
from all the females we saw, yellow forms are always larger thant white ones
