* we believe that separata is a good species and not a rubina ssp for the following reason : Symmachia separata flies from Bolivia to Tena, and rubina from México to Central Perú, an overlap of more than 800 km, maybe too much for two "subspecies", the more so as nobody ever saw any cross breed.
