Mechanitis mazaeus fallax flies from Colombia to Peru and Brasil (d’Abrera 1984) on the lower Eastern slopes of the Andes.
it is a very variable butterfly ;
seen near Puyo, at rio Shankaime, near de Pablo Sexto and South East of Sangay NP.
