Haeterinae are an Amazonian subfamily, and particularly its transparent species fly only at low elevations.
the only exception is Pseudhaetera hypaesia which lives on the Eastern slopes of the Andes between 1000 and 2000 meters.
we saw many Pseudhaetera hypaesia near 9 de Octubre, at Sardinayacu, in the Baños/Puyo corridor and in the rio Paute valley.
