Memphis acidalia flies through all of South America, M. acidalia acidalia being the Andes subspecies (Comstock 1961).
however Sangay specimens look like the Memphis acidalia memphis, and not like the M. a. acidalia illustrated on butterfliesofamerica.
not long ago M. acidalia acidalia was known as M. arachne psammis.
seen on the Eastern fringe of Sangay NP, at elevations of 900/1000 meters, and at the Southern end, at 2000 m.
