wingspan :
males Doxocopa cherubina fly throughout the NP at elevations of 700 to 1500 meters.
scholars do not agree on the relative positions of taxons laurentia, cherubina, thamysia and lavinia ; one, two, or four species ? the one sole point that seems to have been agreed is that we can forget seraphina and chlorotaenia.
hence, and so as not to take sides, we present, provisionally, these four taxons as four independant species.
as for the pictures of live butterflies it is sometimes rather difficult to tell D. lavinia from D. cherubina.
