wingspan : 55/60 mm
this butterfly is Mygona poeania poeania, we collected two identical specimens at Quebrada Cugusha, then a few more near 9 de Octubre and in the rio Paute valley, sometimes in great numbers.
Mygona poeania was not known from this area (TWP) ; we knew this species only from Southern Ècuador (Valladolid) and Northern Peru so far.
in september and october 2009, Mygona poeania was flying in numbers at 2000 m, near Guarumales. and eventually, in 2011, we found Mygona poeania flying on the Northern limit of the Park, in the rio Pastaza valley.
