Marpesia zerynthia flies from Central America down to Peru and the Guyanas (d’Abrera 1987). it is a common species, often seen puddling.
in the National Park we saw it in the Baños/Puyo Corridor, near Palora and Huamboya, at Sardinayacu, near Sucúa and along rio Paute.
