wingspan : male 65/70, female 70/80 mm
Eueides isabella flies from Mexico and the Carribean down to Argentina and Paraguay.
the systematics of this species seem not to be clear, with many forms or subspecies. Holzinger (1994) describes 12 subspecies, 5 of which would fly in Ecuador, but the geographic distribution as given in the text, and the maps, do not really agree.
anyhow, this particular Eueides isabella, which is the common form in the Northern part of Sangay NP, down to Sucúa, does not match any form or subspecies presented in Holzinger’s book.
