Pronophila intercidona (identifed by TWP) is a rather uncommon species that looks like Pronophila unifasciata, and is sympatric with it, at least up to elevations of 1600 m.
in Ecuador we find the typical form Pronophila intercidona intercidona seen with Pronophila unifasciata near Rio Negro, and quite common near rio Palora.
