wingspan : 45 mm
this Carystoides sp, seen at San Isidro, is not illustrated on ButterfliesofAmerica, but it meets Evans'description of C. balza quite well.
our problem is that 1 - we couldn't find any picture of this species, and 2 - this species is supposed to fly West of the Andes ?
later we learnt of another specimen in the Doroshkin collection and coming from 40 km NW of Gualaquiza, at 2200 m.
