Male

wingspan : 40 mm

Bernard Hermier tells us that this skipper, seen and collected at Pablo Sexto and rio Shankaime, on the South bank of rio Pastaza, is Anastrus sempiternus simplicior ;

this butterfly is said to fly from Guyanas to Ecuador, but where in Ecuador ?

and, at a short distance, we collected Anastrus sempiternus sempiternus, near rio Pastaza new bridge (puente Obenques), but on the North bank ; this butterfly flying from Mexico to Ecuador.

it is not absolutely impossible that rio Pastaza be the limit between the two ssp, but we'd better find more specimens before elaborating.
