even if now Heliconius timareta has been found in Southern Colombia and Northern Peru, it nevertheless is essentially an Ecuadorian species.


it is quite common in the North of Sangay NP, with the presence of nearly all known forms as well as some undescribed ones, but the geographic distribution of all these forms seems not to be consistent with any logic ? (see detailed map on the new facts page).
